GW offers comprehensive health insurance through Aetna Student Health
Medical, Health Sciences or Nursing Student
F-1 or J-1 Visa Holding International Student
IMPORTANT: ALL Medical, Nursing, Health Science, and International Students holding a J1 or F1 visa are required to carry insurance beginning in the Fall 2012. The students listed above will automatically be enrolled in Aetna Student Health Insurance plan with an option to opt-out on the hard waiver website through Aetna Student Health.
In Accordance with the Affordable Care Act, many benefits will increase, including:
- Aggregate maximum $2 million per condition, per policy year
- Prescription coverage $100,000 after $100 deductible
- Preventative services covered at 100% (at preferred providers)
- Contraception covered 100% (at preferred providers)
The pharmacy located in the Medical Faculty Associates building offers a discount rate for students for all medicines and devices upon presentation of the GWorld card.
